To produce or announce a 2RRR program, our in-house Radio Training Course must be completed. Recognition of Prior Learning also applies. Once the course is successfully completed, graduates may make an application for airtime.

The 2RRR Radio Training Course is widely acknowledged and highly regarded amongst local media professionals as providing quality training and has helped to launch many illustrious careers in community radio, ABC, and the commercial sector. 2RRR has been training Sydney radio presenters since the station’s inception in 1984.

The course includes one 90-minute lecture each week for 7 weeks (3 in person, 4 via Zoom) including a Q&A session with 2RRR Board members, presenters, and trainers. Lectures are typically held on Monday evenings by 2RRR’s Principal Lecturer, Andrew Sayers, who was trained by Steve Ahern, OAM for services to Australian Broadcasting.

The course also includes one 90-minute hands-on panel training for 6 at the 2RRR’s studios in Henley. Practical sessions are held with small groups and sessions are allocated on a separate day from the lecture.

Students also have the opportunity to sit in with experienced 2RRR presenters on their programs.

Please contact the station for more information and download the application form below. If dates are yet to be confirmed, you will be added to our course mailing list and be the first to receive information.
