To produce or announce a 2RRR program, our in-house Radio Training Course must be completed. Recognition of Prior Learning also applies. Once the course is successfully completed, graduates may make an application for airtime.
The 2RRR Radio Training Course is widely acknowledged and highly regarded amongst local media professionals as providing quality training, and has helped to launch many illustrious careers in community radio, the ABC, and the commercial sector. 2RRR has been training Sydney radio presenters since the station’s inception in 1984.
The course includes one 2 hour Theory session once a week for 8 weeks including one session with 2RRR Board members, presenters, and trainers. Theory classes are held on Tuesday evenings and conducted by experienced professionals from across the sector, primarily Steve Ahern, OAM for services to Australian Broadcasting.
The course also includes 8 weeks of practical, hands-on experience in 2RRR’s studios in Henley. Practical sessions are held with small groups across a two-hour panel training sessions.
Students also have the opportunity to sit in with experienced 2RRR presenters on their programs.

Student Full-Time / Centrelink Pensioner / Those Under the Age of 24: $350.00 (incl. GST)
