2RRR’s Night of Celebration – Over 40 Years Strong!
Broadcasters, volunteers and stars past and present celebrated 40 years of broadcasting by local community radio station 2RRR 88.5FM at a special sold-out event at the North Ryde RSL with over 110 people attending. Featured guests included founding Director and former Chairman Chris Schofield, rock historian and music legend Glenn A Baker, CBAA CEO Jon Bisset, longest continuing broadcaster Margie Mason, amongst others.
Dino Mancini, 2RRR Chairperson, opened the evening by proclaiming that this was a celebration of all the people who have been involved at the station during the past 40 years, “with each a character and each with unique personalities”.
Internationally renowned comedian Rodney Marks, accomplished musician to the stars Bill Scott and long-serving broadcaster DJ Earley Curley provided the entertainment.
Here’s to 40 years of broadcasting may we continue for an eternity!
