Our Lady Queen of Peace, Gladesville, begins Centenary Celebrations on Sunday, March 3, 2024

Parish Priest Fr. Greg Morgan joined Natalie and Mark on 2RRR's Tuesday Morning Mix to discuss everything from Catholic Education to Taylor Swift. However, most importantly, Father Greg warmly invites "as many of you as possible to fill OLQP Church unto the fullest" (paraphrasing an old hymn) and encourages any past Parishioners who might have moved away from the Parish over the years to share in the celebration and hopefully catch up with some old friends. Auxiliary Bishop for Sydney, Bishop DannyMeagher, DD, will be presiding, who is also a past Pastor at OLQP Church in prior years, and morning tea will be served afterwards.

2RRR’s Armenian Program ‘Voice of Nor Serount’ celebrates 35 years on-air!!!

2RRR's Armenian program, 'Voice of Nor Serount' celebrated last weekend with a fabulous dinner and dance in West Ryde. Romancing the night was international singer, George Ghougasian who got the crowd moving! It was fantastic to see Tony Boyadjian in attendance whose 30+ years contribution to our station did not go unrecognised. 2RRR would also like to thank Harout and his beautiful family for being so welcoming to our Chairperson, Dino, and Program Director, Natalie and the rest of the Voice of Nor Serount team for their service. Voice of Nor Serount airs on 2RRR Sundays 7:00pm-9:00pm 🇦🇲

Guess who has been on 88.5 FM for 34 years? The one & only ... Matt Curley!!! Life member Peter Bryant recalls Matt leading the station's first collective programming block, 'The Jaunt Collective', spawning over ten different programs! He has also served on the Board of Directors, including three years as the 2RRR Youth Director, and has been instrumental over the years in promoting local music, running fundraising gigs, and outside broadcasts.

The president of Hungary, Katalin Novak acknowledges 2RRR’s Radio Mozaik!!!

Last Friday was monumental for 2RRR's Hungarian program Radio Mozaik with Gusztav recieving the Hungarian Order of Merit and Kat giving a beautiful speech to a full house of Hungarians including the President herself!

The morning mist cleared into a wonderful sunny Saturday with a cool northeastern breeze. 2RRR hit the airwaves from 10am until the fireworks finale around 8pm with a broadcasting line-up that showcased the talents of both our newest and pre-established presenters.

2RRR Attends ‘Help Grow Live Music in Ryde’ Event @ The Bayview Hotel

Members of 2RRR recently attended an enlightening community event held at our valued sponsor, The Bayview Hotel. Hosted by Live Music Consultant John Wardle and the City of Ryde, the session allowed local musicians and performers to have their say on how to 'Grow Live Music in the City of Ryde'. There were a lot of thought-provoking ideas circulating among the attendees, with the discussion focussing on ways to build a supportive working relationship between musicians, venues and promoters. 2RRR Broadcast from the Moocooboola Festival!

Your Local Sound [to the World] was out and about at this year's Moocooboola Festival at Boronia Park. It was a fun-filled day, and thanks to the looming rain clouds holding back their downpour, the festival grounds remained dry. 2RRR would like to thank Mayor Zac Miles and the Hunters Hill Council for their guiding support on the day and all the broadcasters/interviewees/volunteers for their tireless efforts and entertainment. 2RRR & CMTO Upskill Broadcasters in Audio Editing

Last Saturday 2RRR in conjunction with the Community Media Training Organisation (CMTO) held an Audio Editing Course for our broadcasters. With the rising trend in podcasting and pre-recorded programming, audio editing has become a necessary skill in radio broadcasting. In addition to an excellent and informative session provided by CMTO trainer Heli, it was a valuable opportunity for 2RRR broadcasters to mingle and get to know one another outside of their respective programs.
