Over the past few weeks, Community Officer, Rose James has been actively engaged in a variety of community functions and local initiatives, supporting our local community.

On Saturday February 14th, Rose attended the Heart Community’s Inaugural Teddy Bear Picnic at the Concord Club.

Families from the local community enjoyed activities, a parade, delicious food and a bear-making station where the bears would be donated to sick children. This local initiative aims to support sick children in hospitals by providing ‘special bear friend’ packs sponsored by local businesses.

2RRR sponsored a teddy bear after Tania Mastroianni– the Founder of Business With A Heart, who appeared on Chook’s Morning Roost late last year. Mastroianni was diagnosed with congenital heart disease in utero, which is the leading cause of infant death in Australia. Her work is truly inspiring and we would like to thank Business With A Heart for inviting 2RRR to attend.

To continue, Monday Morning Matters host, Mark Henderson ‘Hendo’ and Community Officer, Rose James, attended the West Ryde Business Chamber event last Wednesday.

The Deputy Mayor of Ryde, Sophie Lara-Windred and member of the Chamber Sonia Artinian were in attendance. Artinian is widely known within our local Armenian Community, as she offers English classes and helpful computer and technological skills to empower the Armenian Community in Sydney.

2RRR is appreciative of the special thanks from the NSW Multicultural Communities Association (NMCA). This follows Jeannette Oujani– Founder and Director of NMCA who featured on Chook’s Morning Roost late last year to promote Christmas hampers to our local community. As a result of their live interview on 2RRR, the NMCA received a generous donation allowing them to deliver 119 hampers to our local area.
