Local residents no longer need to trek across to the ocean suburbs to cool off on a hot day, as a brand-new swimming spot has opened in the heart of Gladesville. Bedlam Bay on the Parramatta River is ready to welcome residents as they cool off this summer!

The swimming spot is complete with shark nets, ensuring our local community is safe, as they join others for a splash. Moreover, Sydney Water has developed a ‘RiverWatch’ which allows the community to know whether the water quality is safe to swim.

Sydney Water has been collected water quality samples at Bedlam Bay since 2020—ensuring safety for all.

“Hendo” joined a large cast of local dignitaries for the official opening, including the Minister and the Mayor. To make this possible for our local community, a $560,000 grant was established from the NSW State Government.

Have a listen to what everyone had to say!
